The capstone field internship is the culmination of months of lecture, laboratory, clinical, and field ride time. The Paramedic intern has grown to become the "leader" on any given call during this critical phase of their education. Like the days of the old AHA Mega Code, the preceptor is asked to determine if they can "put it all together" and run that call from beginning to end. The depth and breadth of the student's knowledge will be assessed while operating with a safety net from the preceptor.
